You can tell a lot about a person by the kind of umbrella they have. Most people opt for a black utilitarian model, but I prefer something with a bit more flair.
I inherited an umbrella from my grandmother (well, it was in her car and she gave me her car, so I got the umbrella, too) with beautiful flowers on it. It finally broke after 15 years, so now I'm in the market for a new one. Since it only rains about six times a year in Los Angeles, I'm going for cuteness, not quality. ("Cuteness, not quality" is a potential title for my novella.)
1. Vera Blushed Blossoms, $35, The Met Store (I would happily sport any of the umbrellas from the Met.)
2. Bright Note, $40, Anthropologie
3. Japanese Floral, $78, Kate Spade
