caramelized bananas

Dessert in my apartment is not very fancy.  We usually have some frozen Girl Scout cookies or store-bought mochi, but last night I decided to kick it up a notch.  I didn't bake a cake (that's like five notches), but I did make a fun topping for vanilla ice cream.  The whole thing was done in less than 10 minutes and it was delicious!

This recipe probably serves 4, but last night it served 2.  Oops.

Ingredients
4 bananas, sliced
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp butter
vanilla ice cream for serving

Directions
  1. Place the sliced bananas in a bowl and sprinkle with the brown sugar.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan.
  3. Add the bananas to the pan and wait for the sugar to being to caramelize (this takes about two minutes).
  4. Sautee the bananas in the butter until they are caramelized evenly on both sides.
  5. Remove from heat the spoon the bananas over a scoop (or three) of vanilla ice cream.

Just FYI, at the Social Media Moms conference this weekend they served these exact bananas with vanilla ice cream for dessert on the beach! Pretty sure they are avid followers of your blog and stole the recipe. So delicious!
